FOLKLORE  SESSIONS

Grassroots Music Community
- Promotions Company
Record Label - Radio Show
- Live Music Venue at The Folklore Rooms

Folklore Sessions is a Brighton & Hove based company, dedicated to highlighting the best songwriters from across the globe.

Created by British songwriter Jacko Hooper in 2014, Folklore began as a monthly night held in a cosy pub in the centre of Brighton to highlight some of the finest artists from across the city…

Having shared the stage with the likes of Bastille, James Bay, Chet Faker, James Blunt, Michael Kiwanuka, Kiefer Sutherland, Freya Ridings, Passenger, and many others, Hooper set about creating a thriving musical community that encapsulated all he loved about music.

Since then, Folklore has gone on to launch its own music venue - The Folklore Rooms - working with hundreds of different artists from across the globe, as well as Releasing Records, launching their own Radio show, and being at the centre of All things folk and indie in the South East of England, UK.

In 2023 they were awarded a grant from the Music Venue Trust to further enhance The Folklore Rooms and make it an even more special venue following performances from artists such as Passenger, Wunderhorse, Memorial, Sorcha Richardson, Kevin Galloway, Juanita Stein, Swim School, Balming Tiger, Bess Atwell, O, Keg, Highschool and many more within the first 12 months as a venue.

Folklore continues to enhance its reputation as one of the most important Grassroots Music Communities in the UK, hosting some of the most exciting artists around and giving them the attention they deserve.

This is music, as it should be.
